What
Is Point Testing or EAV?
To understand EAV (Electroacupuncture
According to Voll), it is helpful to first learn some simple principles
of acupuncture. For thousands of years in the Far East, acupuncture
has been used by trained health practitioners. The Western cultures
started accepting the concepts of acupuncture in the early 1970's.
The human body is part energy and has channels connecting it together
called energy meridians. In acupuncture, there are areas along these
channels of energy or meridians that have a different electrical
conductivity called acupuncture points which connect all the systems
of the body together. These points and channels of energy can correspond
to specific areas, systems and organs of the body. Most of these
channels have control points located on the ears, hands and feet.
We call these specific points CMPs (Control Meridian Points).
EAV is a simple way of
testing to see if your body's energy is in balance. The instrument
has a meter that goes from 0 to 100, with a reading of 50 representing
the ideal balanced energy. A range from 45 to 55 would be the normal
range of most people. A reading higher than 60 might indicate too
much energy or inflammation in that system. A reading below 40 might
show degeneration or low energy.
